Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about what RouteSpark does, how presets work, install requirements, pricing model, and how we handle performance + data.

About RouteSpark

What does RouteSpark do in one sentence?
It lets you build and share reusable, pre‑filtered Shopify collection routes (facets, sort, availability, tags/metafields + optional UTM) with a small chip bar that shows shoppers exactly what’s applied.
Why not just link to a normal collection?
Unfiltered collection links drop shoppers into broad product sets with friction. Preset routes land them inside a narrowed context that matches intent—reducing scroll fatigue and boosting qualified engagement.
Does the chip bar modify my theme?
No theme edits. It’s an app block compatible with OS 2.0 themes (e.g. Dawn). If the block isn’t present your filtered links still work—shoppers just won’t see the visual chip bar.
Is inventory respected?
Yes. Routes avoid presenting empty or near‑empty product sets—helping maintain conversion momentum and preventing wasted traffic.

Using Presets

What can I include in a preset?
Facet filters, sort order, availability state, tags or metafield conditions, and optional UTM parameters for tracking. Name it once—reuse everywhere.
Where can I share a route?
Navigation menus, landing pages, emails, paid ads, SMS, QR codes, social links, internal promos—anywhere you’d normally paste a URL.
What happens if products go out of stock?
Routes stay valid; shoppers simply won’t be funneled to a barren grid. We attempt to keep the experience focused on available inventory.
Does this replace on‑page filtering?
No. It complements native filtering. Shoppers still refine further if they choose—your preset just gives them a high‑intent starting point.

Installation & Setup

Do I need developer help?
Typically no. Install the app, enable the block on desired collection templates, then start saving presets. No liquid edits required.
Will it slow my storefront?
The chip bar is intentionally lightweight (no large frameworks). It renders after core content so perceived load stays fast.
Does it work on legacy themes?
Preset URLs still function, but the chip bar requires an Online Store 2.0 compatible theme to mount.
Can I track performance?
Yes—add UTM parameters at save time. Because the preset encapsulates filters + UTMs, you can attribute downstream engagement and revenue to that route.

Pricing & Account

Is there a free plan?
Yes. Start free while validating impact. Upgrade only after presets become a meaningful conversion lever.
What triggers an upgrade?
Typically usage volume (active presets) or advanced analytics. Exact thresholds are shown in‑app so there are no surprises.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes—downgrade or uninstall with no lock‑in. Preset links you already shared will continue to function, though advanced features will disable.

Privacy & Data

Do you collect shopper PII?
We focus on route performance metadata, not personal identity. Standard Shopify & analytics platform terms still apply.
Is data portable?
You can export preset definitions on request. We aim to provide self‑serve export in future iterations.
How do you handle deletions?
Deleting a preset in the app removes its saved configuration from our datastore; previously shared URLs may become less meaningful if filters change downstream.
Do you sell data?
No—data is used solely to operate and improve the product.
